Cardi B slams rumors that she and Offset are responsible for Nicki Minaj’s husband’s house arrest

After the VMAs, Cardi B shared a vague tweet saying there may have been some tension during the show, which was hosted by Nicki Minaj. “I don’t even flinch,” she wrote.

Petty and some of his associates later echoed the message. Petty then warned Offset, without using his name, that he needed to think about “planning your funeral.” In a thinly veiled threat, the video shows another man saying, “Don’t make us take you off set, nigga.”

In response, Offset posted a video of himself getting off his private jet. “We’re jumping out of planes… (they’re) standing outside,” Offset laughed. Petty tried to further escalate the situation by sharing alleged private messages between him and Offset, who at one point asked where he “was.”

“I’m beyond gangster,” Petty wrote. “Shut up, nigga. You won’t get any comeback for these niggas killing your people. Try me if you want pussy.” Offset did not respond to the apparent reference to Takeoff’s murder, but criticized Petty for “talking crap about a woman.”

Shortly after the altercation, Petty was sentenced to 120 days of house arrest.

“Mr. Petty was recorded on video making threatening remarks toward a specific individual while in the company of an individual with a criminal history,” the order, signed by Judge Michael Fitzgerald, said. “This recent violation raises concerns about Mr. Petty’s willingness to comply with court orders. Therefore, the probation officer believes that inclusion in the Whereabouts Monitoring Program will effectively allow Mr. Petty’s activities to be more closely monitored, limit his movements, provide sanctions for his non-compliance, and hopefully encourage him to reflect on and re-evaluate his current status in the community.”

Last year, Petty was sentenced to one year of home confinement and three years of probation after he failed to register as a sex offender in California.
