Charlize Theron was romantically linked to many big names during The One’s search.
Before making it big in Hollywood, Theron dated an actor Craig Bierko in the 90s. After their separation, the actress moved to the group Third Eye Blind. Stefan Jenkins until 2001. Soon after, Theron began a serious relationship with Stuart Townsend for almost a decade. After splitting from Townsend in 2009, Theron didn’t date anyone seriously until she started dating. Sean Penn from 2013 to 2015.
Although Theron didn’t find her ideal life partner early on, that didn’t stop her from pursuing her dream of becoming a mother. She adopted daughters Jackson and Augusta in 2012 and 2015, respectively.
“I haven’t dated anyone in over five years,” she said during a September 2020 appearance on the channel. The Drew Barrymore Show. “When I had kids, it doesn’t mean it replaces anything or makes you less interested in (romance)… Being a parent is a lot of work, and part of it is at the end of the day: I go to bed and go, ‘Oh. “Oh my God, I wouldn’t want this day to be anything else.”
Theron, for her part, met someone who ticked her boxes. Us weekly in May 2023 she confirmed that she was dating Alex Dimitrievich after meeting at an event a few months earlier.

Craig Bierko
Birko and Theron began dating in 1995, when she was a rising actress in films such as Trial and error, What are you doing! And Devil’s Advocate.
“I’m the luckiest girl in the world because Craig is incredibly supportive and makes me feel safe and protected,” Theron told the magazine. Los Angeles Times in May 1997, before they announced their departure later that year.

Stefan Jenkins
After breaking up with Birko, Theron hooked up with the rock star while on vacation in Hawaii, where the band Third Eye Blind happened to be performing. The couple made their debut as a couple at the BMI Pop Awards in May 1998. Two years later, Theron and Jenkins split. Stuart Townsend
Theron and Townsend met while working on the film In a trap in the early 2000s. The actor said that he became interested in Theron after the actors decided to have dinner.
“She just looked like a million dollars. I thought, “Wow! Who’s that girl?” It was funny because I think so much happened during the reading that I didn’t even have time to appreciate it,” he said. Irish America in 2004. “When she dresses up, it’s funny… After that I was just amazed.”
The duo traveled long distances and lived together in Los Angeles and Ireland. In 2007, things got serious when they were spotted wearing rings and calling each other husband and wife, even though it wasn’t official. However, at the end of 2009, Theron and Townsend announced their departure.

Sean Penn
After years of being single, Theron began a high-profile relationship with Penn in December 2013. After a year of dating, rumors spread that the couple had gotten engaged. However, Theron and Penn announced their separation in June 2015. Years after their split, Theron clarified that she had no intention of tying the knot with Penn.
“I didn’t ‘almost marry Sean,’ that’s bullshit,” she said. Howard Stern in 2020. “No, we dated, that was literally all we did, we dated. Of course it was a relationship. We were definitely exclusive, but that only lasted a year.”

Gabriel Aubry
Following her split from Penn, rumors swirled that Theron had broken up with Aubrey in 2017. The Oscar winner denied these speculations during an appearance at Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohenand noted that she and Aubrey’s children go to the same school. (Aubrey shares daughter Nala with ex Halle Berry.)
However, in May 2022, a source exclusively reported Us that Theron and Aubrey were involved, but this is not serious. “Charlize was dating Gabriel Aubry,” the insider explained at the time. “They are very relaxed and enjoy each other.”

Alex Dimitrievich
A year after her affair with Aubrey, Us confirmed in May 2023 that Theron and the model had been dating for “several months” after meeting at an event. Although the relationship was new at the time, the second source said. Us Five months later, things got serious for the couple—and Dimitrijevic won the favor of Theron’s friends.
