Kim Kardashian has completed a major overhaul of her $70 million luxury Malibu estate near billionaires that began earlier this year.
The 42-year-old SKIMS founder, who notably purchased the mansion last year in September 2022, previously gave fans a sneak peek at the breathtaking space during an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians that aired back in July.
The star made a few updates when it came to the expansive outdoor space, such as changing the deck flooring from light tiles to sleek concrete to give it a sleek and modern look.
She also added solid-colored outdoor furniture, such as comfy white trainers and chairs, to allow the star, as well as her family and friends, to relax while enjoying the stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
Windows in the four-bedroom, six-bathroom Mediterranean-style home were also recently updated to allow natural light into the space during the day.
The exterior of the estate, which sits on a total of three acres of land, has also been given a new coat of paint in light colors to match the modern color scheme.
Landscaping has also been done on the surrounding hill, and garden furniture has also been installed near the pool.
According to the New York Post, Kim’s Malibu mansion was previously owned by Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber, as well as former hedge funder Adam Weiss, who last owned the villa.
The TV presenter has access to tennis courts, a swimming pool, a square-shaped spa, and a cabana. It also has a walkway leading to a private beach directly below the estate.
Ahead of the reality star’s own renovation, Harrison Design senior director Jesse Harrison told the New York Post about some of the other updates that were previously made.
“Our team and clients worked to transform the entire property into a serene, zen-inspired oasis incorporating a natural palette and southern California materials,” he explained in an article published at the time of Kim’s purchase.
“In addition to the extensive renovation of the pool, spa and cabana, the Harrison Design team also created a motor court, private parking, patio and outdoor entertaining space adjacent to the gym.”
Appearing on an episode of The Kardashians that premiered in early July of this year, Kim took Khloe on a special tour of her newly purchased Malibu oasis.
The star’s neighbors include other A-list celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Neil Diamond.
Kim took her sister to see the new home, revealing that she has plans to use the mansion as the perfect party spot for her friends and family.
She also admitted that owning a home in Malibu was her lifelong dream and that she literally cried on the beach when the deal was completed.
Although the house is still in need of repairs and renovations, Kim was quite happy with her big purchase since the outing came right after she learned that her ex Kanye West had made several controversial anti-Semitic statements that brought her to tears.
“I just want to have a good day with Chloe and not think about anything bad. I just want to switch off,” Kim admits.
“So I bought a house in Malibu and that was always my dream. It’s just one of those moments where I can’t believe I’m enjoying achieving a goal that I didn’t really think was realistic,” Kim admits.
The siblings check out the new home, as Khloe says in the confessional, “Kim’s Malibu house is so beautiful.” It’s literally a little oasis. It’s a huge piece of land and it’s right on the beach.”
Kim takes Khloe inside, trying to get her to imagine her vision of the house, as they go downstairs and Kim opens the windows herself, which surprises Khloe since she does “manual labor,” although Kim admits, “I thought it was all on something- That.
They both enjoy the ocean view as Chloe says it’s “so damn gorgeous,” adding that it “looks like a painting.”
Kim takes Khloe back inside and tells her, “It’s like they’re running it like a big TV in there, keeping the little fireplace and making it look like a tiny TV room,” adding, “It’s going to look like a party house, too.” “, which confuses Chloe.
“You just said it was a party house,” Khloe says, and Kim admits, “Yeah, but still with the kids. It’s part party, part kids. It still has to be like…” as Chloe says, “So Disney and Disney After Dark.”
Kim adds in a confessional, “It’s definitely a dream to have a house in Malibu, and I think people think, ‘They have all this, and they do all these things, and they think it’s normal.’ This is not normal and we know it.”
“It wasn’t like, ‘Oh, I have a house in Malibu, no big deal.’ It was like I was standing on the beach with tears streaming down my face, and damn, I did it.”
Khloe tells Kim the house is “your escape,” adding, “Don’t even tell your kids you have it.” Kim adds in a confessional, “This house will be the craziest memories for all my kids, all my nieces and nephews.”
The SKIMS founder also owns a sprawling $60 million mega-mansion located in Hidden Hills, California. The house is occasionally mentioned on social media, as well as on her shared TikTok account with daughter North.
Kim is currently showcasing her acting chops in American Horror Story: Delicate and also appears in the fourth season of The Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which is currently streaming on Hulu with the next episode scheduled to air on October 19th.
