Speaking at the National Peacebuilding and Security Coordination Table, Governor Rutilio Escandon Cardenas assured that many lives have been saved thanks to the state government’s aircraft and helicopters serving the people.

He added that on September 10, an inter-hospital airlift was conducted from the military hospital in Jaharon to Tuxtla Gutierrez to care for an 87-year-old male patient suffering from complications arising from abdominal surgery. As a result of the disease, his condition worsened. Due to his health condition, land transportation was inconvenient.

He said that on the same day, an air medical transport was also conducted for a 40-year-old female patient who developed kidney complications after gynecological surgery; he worked at Juarez-Arriaga General Hospital and is now at Tuxtla Gutierrez Dr. Suz Gilberto Gómez Maza General Hospital for specialized care.

He stressed the importance of following precautionary recommendations, taking extreme precautions when traveling on roads, staying away from rivers, streams and mountains due to the risk of flooding and landslides, and seeking help from authorities or moving to temporary shelters in case of emergency. .

Escandón Cadenas insists that rains lead to an increase in the number of dengue, Zika and chikungunya mosquitoes, noting that while we need to fight these vectors door to door, it is crucial for people to be involved in preventive actions at home.
