Chocolatier: Decadence by Design is an action game developed by Big Splash Games LLC and published by PlayFirst Inc in 2009. Search for exotic and tasty ingredients to customize your own chocolate creations and make a fortune in the post-war boom! In Chocolatier – Decadence by Design, you have full control over the ingredients, appearance, and name/description of your custom recipes. Travel to ports around the world to discover ingredients, build your empire, and follow the continuing saga of the Baumeister family. The way you personalize your chocolates has a financial impact on your success, so create what you (and the people you know) crave at Chocolatier – Decadence by Design.
How to play
OBJECTIVE OF THE GAME:
Grow and maintain a successful candy empire.
WORLD MAP:
Hover over any available port to see the cost and number of weeks it will take to get there, and click to travel.
PORTS OF CALL:
As you move the cursor, available buildings and locations are highlighted and their names appear.
Click on a highlighted location to visit and talk to people there.
Be sure to snoop around each port, you never know what the residents may be up to and what adventures and opportunities await you.
THE MARKET:
Prices in each market fluctuate according to local supply and demand, season, tastes and special conditions.
Click on a product and enter a quantity at the register.
Ingredient prices include automatic transportation back to factories where they are needed.
CHOCOLATE STORES:
Prices are determined by many factors, including local supply and demand, season, tastes and special conditions.
Click on a product and enter the quantity you want to sell.
Click any Sell button to complete the sale.
If you prefer, you can click Sell All to sell your entire inventory of finished goods at once.
The stores you own will always offer premium prices for your chocolates.
Players can haggle with market traders to try to get better prices for their products.
YOUR FACTORIES:
Each factory can make one candy at a time.
Click Change Recipe to browse your recipes and choose a product to prepare.
You may need to purchase additional machinery or ingredients to prepare a particular recipe.
Click Make Chocolates! visit the factory, where chocolates are made, and also establish the continuing efficiency of that particular factory making that particular recipe.
The factory will continue making chocolates or coffee at the rate you set as long as you have the necessary ingredients in your inventory.
MAKE CHOCOLATES:
Match the example tray showing your chosen recipe.
Aim with the mouse and click to shoot the ingredients.
The trays move faster as you succeed and slow down each time you waste ingredients.
Waste eight ingredients and your round is over.
The factory maintains the weekly production efficiency you set here until you choose a new recipe.
You can make chocolates as often as you like, but remember that each factory run takes up a week that you could spend searching for new ingredients, selling candy, and charting new paths for your business.
MAKING COFFEE:
Combine at least 3 identical ingredients in a row.
Aim with the mouse and click to shoot the ingredients.
Waste eight ingredients and your round is over.
The factory maintains the weekly production efficiency you set here until you choose a new recipe.
You can make coffee as often as you like, but remember that each factory run requires a week that could be spent sourcing new ingredients, selling sweets, and charting new paths for your business.
SECRET TEST KITCHEN:
Choose the type of product to invent, chocolate or coffee.
Create your invention by selecting the ingredients you have collected throughout the game.
After selecting the ingredients, ask the head chef to test them to see if you created a good product.
If your invention passes the taste test, then you can design its appearance and name the recipe.
When you’re done, you have the option to add the recipe to your book, which will then be available to craft.
