The 19-year-old tennis star shared her comments about Serena, 41, in an interview with People magazine.
She began by admitting that she was feeling “slight pressure” now that “everyone was looking at (her).”
However, with “The GOAT” recently welcoming her second child and enjoying a hiatus from professional competition, Coco Gauff noted, “It takes the pressure off in a way because she’s the greatest player of all time.”
Regarding Serena Williams, Coco declared that she “didn’t want to make those steps anyway.” Still, she admits, “But obviously, I do want to be the best version of myself and do the best I can.”
