The man was at the end of the Ongania ridge, in Piani di Bobbio. The climber fell from the summit ridge between Zucco di Pesciola and Zucco Campelli into one of the impenetrable ravines located in the Sentiero degli Stradini area. At the very moment when only last Sunday a young 20-year-old boy crashed and was hospitalized with a red code in the hospital of Monza. Alpine Rescue and a Sondrio helicopter were on site. Rescuers had no choice but to state death and begin operations to remove the body. Eight technicians from the Valsassina-Valvarrone station, including a doctor from Cnsas – the National Alpine and Caving Rescue Corps – to support the operations. The intervention began shortly before 12.30 and ended at 14.
