Daniel Day-Lewis shocked fans when he appeared on the red carpet in New York on Tuesday night.
The reclusive Oscar winner, 66, was spotted with his wife Rebecca Miller, 61, at the premiere of her new film She Came to Me.
Looking quite handsome in a double denim ensemble, the My Left Foot star held hands with his gorgeous co-star, the daughter of renowned playwright Arthur Miller.
The lovely parents were also joined by their 25-year-old son Ronan, who wore a casual white T-shirt and jeans for the big debut.
The family outing was timed to coincide with the first screening of the romantic comedy Rebecca, which starred Anne Hathaway, Peter Dinklage and Marisa Tomei.
Daniel showed off his quirky fashion sense in a black shirt, turquoise tie, denim jacket and matching jeans.
Writer and director Rebecca, who married Daniel in 1996, looked effortlessly chic in a black sleeveless top and black sparkly trousers, accessorizing the look with a designer handbag.
The Big Apple tour was certainly a welcome treat for Daniel’s fans, as the handsome actor was photographed in public for the first time in four years in May.
However, Daniel didn’t seem to be keeping a low profile as his ensemble certainly turned heads.
Wearing a royal blue tracksuit, graffiti trucker hat and long gray hair, the There Will Be Blood star was quite a sight on the New York City sidewalks.
The Method actor has not appeared on the red carpet since he announced his retirement in June 2017 following the release of Phantom Thread. ‘
All my life I’ve been saying that I should stop acting, and I don’t know why this time was different, but the impulse to quit was ingrained in me and it became a compulsion,” he told W magazine via five months after the news.
“It was something I had to do.”
With this announcement, Hollywood will lose the only actor to win three Best Actor Oscars.
In 1989, he went home with his first song, “My Left Foot,” and then erected a statue for 2007’s “There Will Be Blood” after his victory.
In 2012, Steven Spiel’s Lincoln brought Daniel his third Oscar.
In retirement, Daniel divides his time between New York and Annamoe, Ireland, with his wife Ronan and their second son Cashel, 21.
Daniel also has a 28-year-old son, Gabriel, with his ex-girlfriend, French star Isabelle Adjani.
Meanwhile, Anne showed up to the premiere of She Came to Me in a stunning pink dress, posing alongside Marisa, who stole the show in a sophisticated black dress.
