The state Department of Land and Natural Resources office has closed department offices to in-person visits including the Division of Conservation and Resource Enforcement; Forestry and Wildlife; Lands; and Parks. Boating and recreation offices across the state are reopening with social distancing rules in place.
State Public Libraries now have Wiki Visits, which allow a limited number of patrons to enter the library, make quick pickups, select books and materials, and use computer time in the library. The Summit Area of Haleakala National Park is open daily, but access to the attraction is limited. Reservations are accepted daily from 3am to 7am for sunrise. The Keonehe’ehe’e (sand boarding) and Halemau’u trails into the crater offer day hikes. The Kipahului area is open weekdays from 9am to 5pm. These include the Pipiwai Trail and the Kuloa Point Trail.

The Mauinui Botanical Gardens in Wailuku have reopened Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Hana Youth Center has reopened to youth ages 6 to 18. Opening hours are weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm.

Kahi Kamali’i is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Head Start has reopened in-person sites with reduced enrollment and also has virtual sites.

Hawaii Homes Department offices on Maui and Molokai have reopened for in-person tours by appointment. Bills can be paid without an appointment. Camping permits and facility reservations will not be issued until October 31st. These facilities include Ka Hale Pomaika’i (Paukukalo Community Center) on Maui and Mo’omomi Beach Park, Kapuaiwa Grove and Kalaniana’ole Hall on Molokai.
