Davis, Rui Hachimura lead Lakers against Trail Blazers, LeBron out with injury

Anthony Davis scored 30 points and 13 rebounds, Rui Hachimura scored 8 of his 19 points in the final 3 minutes and 43 seconds, and the Los Angeles Lakers overcame the absence of LeBron James due to injury. Defeated the Trail Blazers 116-110 on Sunday.

James missed the first game of the season with a left calf injury. The greatest scorer in NBA history was injured in a collision with Kevin Durant during the first quarter in Phoenix on Friday night.

Even though James returned for that game, the Lakers decided to rest the 38-year-old star.

James’ team failed to open a big gap with the Portland Trail Blazers, but Davis took charge of the Lakers and scored 9 points in the fourth quarter to win at home after leading 1-3 on the road.

Cam Reddish scored 16 of Los Angeles’ 18 points in the first half and led by 13 entering the fourth quarter before Portland scored 12 straight points. Austin Reeves scored 18 points and D’Angelo Russell had 11 points and 11 assists.

Jerami Grant scored 23 points and Shaden Sharp added 19 points for Portland, which has lost three straight after winning three straight.
