Days after LeBron James went wild on Deion Sanders, Oregon wore Lakers star’s Nike jersey and handed ‘Coach Prime’ his first loss as Colorado head coach

LeBron James has been very vocal about his love for Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders. As Buffalo remains undefeated through the first three games of the 2023 season under coach Prime, King James went viral on social media, acknowledging the Sanders era of college football. But the Oregon Ducks caused some hiccups in the NFL legend’s reign, handing him his first loss as Buffalo’s head coach.

Not only did the Oregon Ducks defeat Coach Prime’s team, they did so wearing King James Nike sneakers.

Oregon State hands Prime coach first loss of season

The Colorado Buffaloes have been on cloud nine since Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders signed on as their head coach last year. Sanders helped his new team win the first three games of the season, proving his worth. But another undefeated team, the Oregon Ducks, brought Buffalo back to reality by defeating them for the first time in their coaching prime. The loss was a humiliation for the NFL legend, as the Ducks defeated Buffalo 42-6.

The Oregon Ducks were ready to break Coach Plame’s winning streak even before they stepped onto the football field. Sponsored by multi-billion dollar sportswear brand Nike, the entire Ducks team wore LeBron James sneakers to the stadium. The LeBron 20 sneakers worn by the team come in a player-exclusive green and yellow combination called the “Oregon Ducks” colorway.

The sneaker choice is ironic since King James is a huge fan of Coach Prime, and the Ducks handed the NFL legend his first loss wearing the sneakers of his biggest fan.

Colorado Buffaloes need to bounce back

After the Oregon Ducks snapped the Colorado Buffaloes’ undefeated streak in dominant fashion, Coach Prime looks to bounce back in their next game.

But the Oregon Ducks are a tight team. They are unbeaten in their first 4 games of the season and maintain an unbeaten record.

In order to win it all in his first season as Buffalo’s head coach, Coach Prime must learn from his mistakes and be ready for the next time these two teams meet on the football field.
