Shaquille O’Neal has a tendency to make comments about the biggest names in basketball that sometimes don’t sit well with certain segments of the fanbase or even contradict past actions.
Big Diesel claims that NBA players today are no longer as afraid of LeBron James as they were when Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan were players.
On “The Big Podcast,” co-hosted by “Big Diesel,” former Heat guard Mario Chalmers, who won two championship rings with James in Miami, joins NBA TNT analysts O’Neal and O’Neill expressed his thoughts. Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame member.
What did Shaquille O’Neal say?
“I hear players say, myself included, ‘I’m afraid of Mike (Jordan).’ I hear players of (Chalmers’) generation say they’re afraid of Kobe,” O’Neal began.
“I haven’t really heard any player claim they’re afraid of LeBron.”
Chalmers revealed that James was called a “good guy” by O’Neal after he was previously criticized for sharing the same views as the former big man.

What did Chalmers say?
“I’m getting killed for saying this. Players don’t really seem to be afraid of LeBron as much as they are afraid of Jordan,” in my opinion.
Shaq continued, “I’ve never heard anyone say that,” but Chalmers clarified his point.
“It’s not that players shouldn’t be afraid of LeBron. “LeBron wants to be liked because he’s been through so much,” Chalmers said.
So, it’s kind of like this: “I’m going to do something now that will make people respect me and make people like me.”
While (people) will always respect (people) for what (he) accomplished, you now like “Brown” and want to follow him. So I believe that’s what happened.
