‘Deep down I was…’: John Cena regrets his iconic feud with Dwayne Johnson

Two of WWE’s biggest stars, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena are back in WWE. There was a time when both stars had a bitter feud. But recently, a few weeks ago, upon the return of The Rock, both stars were seen hugging each other. At the Fastlane 2023 press conference, John Cena commented on his rivalry with The Rock and how things have changed for him over the years.

John Cena called this his biggest mistake

When Dwayne Johnson headed to Hollywood, John Cena criticized him for leaving WWE to pursue an acting career. While talking about his rivalry with Brahma Bull, John Cena talked about how things have changed over the years. The 46-year-old star said she publicly and personally apologized to Johnson for those exact remarks.

He said, “I thought what I was trying to do was better for business, I went the wrong way, violated his trust.” as he claimed he was making statements about the Hollywood star’s point of view without knowing it.

He further added: ” I was a fan at heart and wanted to bring The Rock back, but I did it wrong. I did it disrespectfully.” He further added that he personally experienced growth and it changed his thinking. He also said that he apologized to him multiple times and it went like this: “very humiliating experience” for a star. He concluded by saying that it was a great experience to learn from his mistake.

John Cena has admitted on multiple occasions that the comments he made about The Rock’s Hollywood career were made at a time when he was not very experienced.
