So Hamlin purchased a 15-acre parcel of land in Huntersville for $3.7 million, and now that work is complete on the new headquarters, the new building is ready to welcome his team and drivers.

Hamlin’s previously shared architectural design gave fans a glimpse into the unique project the two were working on. To add to the theme, they have now chosen a non-traditional name for their new home. Bob Pockrass asked Hamlin about naming the building Airspeed, to which the JGR driver responded sarcastically. “I mean, we could call it Bob’s garage, but it’s not. “We did more than just build Bob’s garage.”

Explaining the real reason behind the name “Airspeed,” Hamlin added, “So Airspeed is just a combination, very similar to 23X1. 23 is Michael and 11 is me. Airspeed is Air his and Speed ​​me, so we felt it was a good identity for the building.
