Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s legal battle will be at the center of a documentary. It is a three-part docuseries, a project that has just been announced by British broadcaster Channel 4.

The title, for now provisional, is Depp V Heard. It is billed as the first “in-depth” examination of the 2022 libel trial, from which Depp famously emerged victorious.

The docuseries is produced by Bitachon365, Blowing LA producer Sheldon Lazarus’ Fulwell 73 and Empress Films. The latter is the production house to which we owe the Netflix documentary The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe: The Unheard Tapes.
And to direct Depp V Heard she will be the director of The Mystery of Marilyn Monroe (which earned her a BAFTA nomination), Emma Cooper.

Depp V Heard will be a mix of news, interviews and footage from the courtroom

The docuseries will combine courtroom footage, news sources, video interviews, and user-generated social content from Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and so on.
The goal of this first project dedicated to the most debated trial of the last few decades is precisely to explore some of the most important moments of the judicial case that saw Amber Heard and Johnny Depp fight. The two also fought outside the courtroom, in the sense that the trial was also characterized by an unprecedented media “ring”.

Channel 4 draws up a list of interesting provocative projects (including a lockdown-themed film)

British broadcaster Channel 4 has announced a very interesting list of titles.
Among the most captivating (and provocative), there are Partygate: The True Story produced by Halcyons Heart Films, which will dramatize a British national scandal over the rules of the lockdown.
The docudrama will juxtapose the revelry at 10 Downing Street (the residence and seat of the UK Prime Minister, the official seat of the UK government) with the harsh reality of Covid restrictions in the rest of the country.
