Al-Marsad Newspaper – SPA: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – presided over the session held by the Council of Ministers today in Riyadh.

The start of the session

At the opening of the proceedings, the Council of Ministers examined the content of the two messages that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques – God protect him – received from His Excellency the Transitional President of Burkina Faso, and from His Excellency the President of the Period of transition, Head of State in the Republic of Mali, and the content of the message received from His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister – May God protect him -, from His Majesty the Sultan of Oman.

The Council also discussed all the talks and consultations that have taken place between His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister – may God protect him – and the leaders of numerous fraternal and friendly countries at bilateral and multilateral levels, in scope of the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen its international partnerships and continue its pioneering role in achieving security and peace in the region, and to consolidate collective action towards greater stability, progress and prosperity for the world and all its peoples.

His Excellency the Minister of Information, Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, explained in his statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Council of Ministers took note, in this context, of the positive results achieved by the Saudi summit- African held in Riyadh which will contribute – God willing – to creating a qualitative change in the areas of cooperation and partnership between the Kingdom and African countries: Especially through the projects and programs of the Initiative for the Development of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Africa, and signed agreements and memorandums of understanding, as well as new investments and financing provided to various sectors.

The Council expressed its thanks to Their Majesties, Excellencies and Highnesses, leaders of the brotherly countries, for their participation in the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, through which the Kingdom sought to continue its efforts to strengthen and coordinate action jointly to stop the brutal war in Gaza, lift the siege, hold the occupation authorities accountable for the crimes committed and restore the emphasis on support for the Palestinian cause; In order to ensure that the Palestinian people obtain their legitimate rights, the first of which is the creation of their own independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Council of Ministers underlined what the Kingdom stated during the meeting of the Interior Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, namely the importance of raising the level of cooperation and joint coordination in matters of security, in light of the risks and the challenges facing the region and the world. they are experiencing, which has led to growing waves of violence, terrorism, extremism, insecurity and the spread of organized crime across borders.

Saudi Arabia-Oman Coordination Council

The Council examined the results of the first meeting of the Saudi-Omani Coordination Council, which was held in Muscat, praising the excellence of relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the continuous progress and development witnessed by the cooperation paths jointly in various sectors.

The Council of Ministers underlined the Kingdom’s continued role in supporting the objectives of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and its efforts to safeguard women’s rights and strengthen their participation in development in member states, including hosting the International Conference on women in Islam, who witnessed the announcement of the “Jeddah Document”. Be a legal, legislative and intellectual reference that contributes to achieving the emancipation of women in Islamic societies.

The Council examined the topics on the agenda, including topics under consideration by the Shura Council, as well as the conclusions of the Council on Economic and Development Affairs, the Council on Political and Security Affairs, the General Committee of the Council of ministers, and the Council of Experts of the Council of Ministers relating to them.

The Council concluded the following:

In the first place:

Approve the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and authorize His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs – or his representative – to sign the draft protocol necessary for this purpose.

secondly:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Culture of the Italian Republic.

Third:

Authorizes His Highness the Minister of Culture – or his representative – to discuss and sign with the Spanish and Cuban parties two draft memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the cultural field between the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Culture Culture and Sport in the Kingdom of Spain and Ministry of Culture in the Republic of Cuba.

Fourth:

Approval of an agreement between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the People’s Republic of China for cooperation and legal assistance in civil, commercial and personal status matters.

Fifth:

Approval for the membership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, to the Global Building and Construction Alliance.

Sixth:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Kingdom of Thailand.

Seventh:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Investment – or his representative – to sign a draft agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan concerning the encouragement and mutual protection of investments.

Eighth:

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has become a member of the International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization.

Ninth:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Education – or his representative – to discuss with the Hellenic side a draft memorandum of scientific and educational cooperation between the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education and Business Religious in the Hellenic Republic, and to sign it.

Tenth:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation and news exchange between the Saudi Press Agency and the Iraqi News Agency.

eleven :

Approval – in principle – for the establishment of the Regional Center for the Sustainable Development of Fisheries Resources.

Twelfth:

Appointment of Dr Saleh bin Hamoud bin Abdullah Al-Suwailami, Dr Saad bin Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Al-Mubayed and Engineer Abdul Mohsen bin Muhammad bin Saad Al-Drees, as members of the Board of Directors of the General Road Authority from the private sector with links to the road sector.

Thirteen:

Approval of the accession of the National Development Fund to the World Economic Forum.

The Cabinet also reviewed a number of general agenda items, including the annual reports of the Commission on Communications, Space and Technology, the General Ports Authority, the General Irrigation Corporation, the Saudi Center for international strategic partnerships and the National Meteorology Center and the Council has taken the necessary measures regarding these issues.
