Al-Marsad Newspaper – SPA: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may God protect him – presided over the session held by the Council of Ministers today in Riyadh.

The start of the session

During the session, the Council of Ministers was informed about all the talks that took place between the Kingdom and different countries of the world, within the framework of consolidating cooperative relations and pushing them towards broader horizons. In a way that serves common interests and improves coordination on multiple regional and international issues and challenges.

Current developments in Gaza

The Council followed up on current developments in and around Gaza, reiterating in this context the Kingdom’s continued exercise of its historic and pioneering role in supporting the brotherly Palestinian people. Including the launch of a popular donation campaign to help and provide relief to our brothers in Gaza, and continuing efforts with regional and international parties to reach an immediate ceasefire and return to the path of a just and comprehensive peace for Palestinian question.

His Excellency the Minister of Information, Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, explained in his statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the session that the Council of Ministers noted the Kingdom’s interest in organizing specialized international meetings and quality whose results are consistent with national objectives and promising prospects in vital sectors, commending in this regard what has been done in the forum of the World Health Organization and the International Cybersecurity Forum, which were held in Riyadh, including the signing of agreements, memorandums of understanding and discussions that focused in their entirety on what could ensure a sustainable and prosperous future for these two sectors and strengthen their role in economic and social development.

The Council of Ministers was briefed on the topics on the agenda, including those on which the Shura Council participated in the study, and examined what was presented by the Council for Economic and Development Affairs, the Council for Political and Security Affairs , by the General Committee of the Council of Ministers, and the Council of Experts of the Council of Ministers have concluded in this regard. The Council concluded the following:

In the first place:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding relating to political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia.

secondly:

Authorizes His Excellency the Minister of Trade – or his representative – to discuss with the Egyptian side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Trade of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Supplies and Internal Trade of the Arab Republic of ‘Egypt for cooperation in the field of consumer protection.

Third:

Renewal of a cooperation agreement in the field of veterinary services between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt, for a period of (five) years.

Authorizes His Excellency the Minister of Tourism – or his representative – to discuss with the Tunisian and Ivorian parties two draft memoranda of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism between the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministries of Tourism in the Republic of Tunisia and the Republic of Ivory Coast.

Fifth:

Authorizes His Excellency the Minister of Tourism – or his representative – to discuss with the African Union a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the African Union for cooperation in the field of development of human capital in the tourism sector.

Sixth:

Authorizes His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information, President of the Board of Directors of the Digital Government Authority – or his representative – to discuss with the Moroccan, Rwandan and Djiboutian parties the draft memorandum of understanding between the Digital Authority parties Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform of the Kingdom of Morocco, Information Society Authority of the Republic of Rwanda and Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Djibouti for cooperation in sector areas of digital government.

Seventh:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Export Development Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the General Authority of the Egyptian Export Development Center affiliated to the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Arab Republic of Egypt in non-oil export development.

Eighth:

Approval of two memoranda of understanding between the Supervisory and Anti-Corruption Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and each between: the Financial and Economic Crimes Authority in the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Authority in the Republic of Kenya, in the field of preventing and combating corruption.

Ninth:

Authorizes His Excellency the President of the Board of Directors of the Education and Training Evaluation Commission – or his representative – to discuss with the Mauritanian side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Education and Training Evaluation Commission of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Education and Training National Education and Education Reform in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, for cooperation in the field of development of assessment and measurement tools and accreditation.

Tenth:

Approval of a cooperation agreement between the Presidency of State Security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the General Administration of National Security in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, in the field of combating terrorist crimes and their financing.

eleven :

Approval of memoranda of understanding between the Saudi General Department of Financial Investigations at the Presidency of State Security in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and each of: the National Financial Information and Processing Unit in the Republic of Senegal, the National Financial Intelligence Unit processing of financial information in the Republic of Senegal Republic of Benin, the National Financial Investigation Agency of the Republic of Chad and the Information Processing Unit, National Financial Committee of the Republic of Togo, regarding cooperation in the exchange of investigations relating to money laundering, terrorist financing and related crimes.

twelfth:

Approving an indicative model of a memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the governments of interested countries and international organizations to cooperate in the implementation of the initiatives of the Oil Demand Sustainability Program and authorizing His Royal Highness the Minister of ‘Energy, The Chairman of the Oversight Committee of the Oil Demand Sustainability Program – or his representative – discusses with relevant governments and international organizations regarding a draft memorandum of understanding between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and governments of interested countries and international organizations to cooperate in implementing the Oil Demand Sustainability Program initiatives.

Thirteen:

Authorizes His Royal Highness the Minister of Energy, Chairman of the Oil Demand Sustainability Program Monitoring Committee – or his representative – to discuss with the African Organization for Standardization a draft cooperation agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the African Organization for Standardization in the field of clean fuel solutions for food supply.

Fourteenth

Renewal of Eng.’s membership. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Khorayef and Eng. Ahmed bin Rashid Al-Balaa, on the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority, as representatives of the private sector related to export activity.

The Cabinet also reviewed a number of general agenda items, including the annual reports of the Ministry of Commerce, the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities, the Saudi Geological Survey, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, of the Human Rights Commission and the Food Fund. The Council has taken the necessary measures regarding these issues.
