The Australian pop star’s new album features the song “Silly”, based on the same sample as “Musica (E il resto ignore)”. Intentional sampling or coincidence? Let’s clarify

Pop champion Troye Sivan’s new album was released yesterday. Something to give each otherthe artist’s first work after his role in the series Idol The Weeknd and his Italian audience were stunned.
Melody – song from the album, Sillywhich reminded many Music (And everything else fades away)the song that Elettra Lamborghini brought to Sanremo in 2020. In fact, listening Silly you’ll easily recognize the Latin riff that the Lamborghini song is also based on.

Elettra Lamborghini and the song’s two writers, Michele Canova Jorfida and Davide Petrella, were however uncredited on Spotify during the Genius performance. Music (And everything else fades away) is marked as a sample.
So we contacted Universal Music Italia and they explained: “They just used the same sample. There is no direct connection between Troy and Electra.” Thus, the mystery is solved: both songs simply used the same sample, which, while not a sample, was taken from a sound library.
