Dog with conjunctivitis, otitis media and injuries rescued from La Boca house

Through a joint process between the Judicial Investigation Team of the Prosecutor’s Office and the Environmental Crimes Unit of the Municipal Police Department, Twelve dogs in poor health were rescued from a house in the La Boca neighborhood of Buenos Aires.

The rescue was made possible after a neighbor reported the sighting of the animals with photos and videos, prompting police to intervene. Municipal Procuratorate Environmental Affairs Specialized Finance Department (UFEMA).

After entering the house, they found that the sanitary and environmental conditions of the dogs were very poor, without any protection from the sun or rain; they also lacked food and drinking water, so Carlos Rollero Santurian, the prosecutor in charge of UFEMA ( Carlos Rolero Santurián ordered the rescue of the 12 dogs and their delivery to judicial custody of the non-governmental organization summoned to carry out the proceedings.

Veterinarians who treated these animals confirmed They suffered from generalized conjunctivitis, long-standing otitis media, superficial skin wounds, and stability issues due to limited living space.

At the same time, the poor sanitary conditions in which they are found represent a risk of zoonotic diseases, both to them and to the people who live there.
