Dolly Parton has released a version of Miley Cyrus’ 2013 hit “Wrecking Ball” featuring Cyrus herself.
The song is the seventh song from Parton’s next studio album, number 48. Rockstar – the first rock album in country style.
Parton’s new version of “Wrecking Ball” begins with a simple piano accompanying Parton’s soft yet raspy voice before Cyrus joins her in the first chorus.
Cyrus takes charge for the second verse as the electric guitars come in and it becomes clear how the song appears on a Parton rock album.
Unlike the original version, the song ends with the final song, “Siempre te amarΓ©”, which references Parton’s 1974 song of the same name, made famous by Whitney Houston’s version.
When Cyrus released “Wrecking Ball” ten years ago, it hit No. 1 on both sides of his band and became one of the biggest songs of the year.

Fans and other pop superstars have responded with joy to the new version starring Dolly Parton, with one fan saying the song should “go to number one ASAP.”

Earlier this year, a Wisconsin teacher was charged after school officials banned her from singing the song in class because the song’s promotion of inclusivity could be considered “controversial.”
