Versace, house of icons. Yes, this includes models like Naomi Campbell, Caludia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, as well as living legends like Y2K queen Paris Hilton, singer Dua Lipa and diva extraordinaire Cher, who, like Versace himself, never needed more than one name .
Donatella Versace has two names, but each is as influential as the women who have embodied the spirit of her luxury house decade after decade, such as Anne Hathaway.
Anne Hathaway is a true Versace icon. Literally! Because she remains the face of the Versace Icons collection.
Versace Icons is a capsule collection that defines the basic Versace wardrobe. These are the clothes that Donatella considers essential, and the clothes that Hathaway herself turns to every day.
“These are the wardrobe pieces that I live in,” Donatella Versace told Highsnobiety. “From traveling to working in a boardroom, from dining out to working with a team. Icons is my best Versace wardrobe.”
The first edition of Versace Icons was released in April and included a mix of wardrobe staples and Versace signatures, from jeans to a Medusa halter dress inspired by an archive issue. Naturally, Hathaway modeled them all.
The second round of Versace Icons, launching in October, features another collection of trend-neutral Versace pieces drawn from all eras of the house. It includes textured denim and nappa leather, tanks and raincoats, knitwear and bags with hardware inspired by the Versace collections of the mid-90s.
As usual, Hathaway is leading the campaign.
“Anna is an influential, successful and incredibly kind person. She is a modern icon and a Versace woman,” Donatella Versace told Highsnobiety. “She knows exactly what she likes and what suits her. She loves statement clothes that make her feel her best. Our values are the same.”
This is where Versace comes in, dressing Hathaway for just about every major event she’s attended lately.
