Ed Sheeran: new album due in September

Ed Sheeran has announced the release of his new album four months after his last success. The singer, who is going through a critical period in his life, talks about his relationships with friends and how, based on the situation, music managed to get him out of a difficult situation.

“When I went through hard times early last year, songwriting helped me understand my feelings and accept what was going on, and when I found out about my friends’ different situations, I wrote songs, some from their point of view, some from their point of view. . my own to capture how they and I saw the world at the time. There were bright moments of falling in love and new friendships, interspersed with sad moments of grief, depression, loneliness and confusion,” says the artist.

The idea of creating this new album belongs to his father and brother, who told Ed Sheeran about the composer Elgar, who in his “Enigma Variations” dedicated each song to a friend. From that moment, as the singer explains, “he inspired me to create this album. When I recorded Subtract with Aaron Dessner, we immediately hit it off. We wrote and recorded songs non-stop, and from that collaboration, this album was born. I feel like he captured the feeling of autumn so beautifully in his sounds, and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”
