Acapulco, State of Georgia, November 10, 2023. – Since the first hours after the impact of Hurricane Otis, the state government, headed by Gov. Evelyn Salgado Pineda, through the state Department of Health and in coordination with the federal Department of Health , coordinates the different agencies of the health sector at the three levels of government, implementing promotional and preventive actions mainly in the regions of Acapulco and Coyuca de Benitez.
To date, a total of 1,100 health professionals have joined to strengthen this operation, including: doctors, nurses, technicians in 43 mobile health units in Acapulco and 5 additional mobile health units in Coyuca de Benitez and administrative staff, these units have provided care to 23,192 patients in Acapulco and 2,138 in Coyuca.
The main medical concerns are patients with respiratory infections (6,544), diabetes (5,223), hypertension (4,638), diarrheal diseases (2,099), trauma (964), cures (454), skin diseases (769), fungal diseases ( 545) and conjunctivitis (260). In addition, care is provided for pregnant women at all stages of pregnancy.
Paramedics performed more than 30,000 operations in Acapulco and more than 3,004 operations in Coyuca: 19,000 vital sign measurements, 11,000 482 body measurements, 3,005 553 drug applications, 2,008 836 cures, 1,000 838 Diagnosis and treatment.
Announced the continuation of vaccination teams, health promotion operations, pre-hospital medical care (the transfer of 554 patients to hospitals in other states of the republic), sanitary supervision of COFEPRIS and CORISEG and ongoing epidemiological surveillance to avoid deterioration of the health situation.
