Filming of Roth’s new horror has begun and for the occasion, the director shared some shots from the set where he celebrated his birthday.
In celebrating the birthday, Eli Roth shared on social media some shots from his new horror, Thanksgiving, which also includes in the cast Patrick Dempseyidol of Grey’s Anatomy. Filming has just begun.
The cast also includes Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks (Walker), Milo Manheim (Zombies), Nell Verlaque (Big Shot), Gina Gershon (Chucky), Tim Dillon and Rick Hoffman (Hostel). Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving hits theaters on November 17, 2023.
The film is a long-form elaboration and expansion of Roth’s mock trailer that appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse (2007), and will be distributed theatrically worldwide by TriStar Pictures and Spyglass Media Group (Scream). Roth co-wrote the screenplay with Jeff Rendell. Roger Birnbaum and Eli Roth are the producers.

As Deadline writes “the fake Thanksgiving trailer presented a pseudo film in which a slasher massacres the inhabitants of a small town in Massachusetts that makes a lot of noise every year for the famous anniversary, Thanksgiving Day. The trailer was so successful that it was considered a feature film with Roth directing, but it’s been 15 years since the release of Grindhouse and we were beginning to think that Thanksgiving would never come“.
