Oppenheimer’s Emily Blunt is set to reunite with Jungle Cruise co-star Dwayne Johnson for a new film.

The pair are producing the upcoming Amazon film Kate Warne, with the possibility that Blunt will star in it. However, due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes, no casting deal for Blunt has yet been confirmed.

The thriller will center around Warne’s main character, the real-life Sherlock Holmes. The first female detective at the prestigious Pinkerton Agency, Warne paved the way for women in law enforcement.

The film will be directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who also directed Black Adam, and written by Godmother screenwriter Melissa Stack.

The film will mark Collet-Serra’s third collaboration with Seven Bucks Productions. Johnson’s production company was founded by Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, who are also producers of the new film.

Blunt will star alongside Marvel’s Chris Evans in the upcoming film Pain Hustlers, which hits UK cinemas on October 20 and hits Netflix a week later.

The new film also stars Schitt’s Creek’s Catherine O’Hara, Father of the Bride’s Andy Garcia, Last Christmas’ Amit Shah and Transparent’s Jay Duplass.

The news comes after Blunt recently revealed she was taking a break from acting to spend more time with her family.

“I’m not working this year. I worked quite a lot last year, and my oldest child is nine, so we’re in the last year in the single digits,” she explained on an episode of iHeart’s Table for Two podcast.

“And I just feel like there are cornerstones in their day that are so important when they’re little.”

Pain Hustlers opens in UK cinemas on October 20, before streaming on Netflix a week later.
