Emirati statement after the Israeli bombing of two schools in Gaza

The United Arab Emirates on Saturday condemned Israeli shelling that targeted two schools in the Gaza Strip.

The Emirati graduate said in a statement: “The UAE condemns and denounces in the strongest terms the Israeli bombing of UNRWA Al-Fakhoura School and Tal Al-Zaatar School.”

Furthermore, the United Arab Emirates, which maintains diplomatic relations with Israel, described attacks on schools and hospitals in the Gaza Strip as “inhumane”, underlining its “categorical refusal to target civilian institutions and objects in the Strip”.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the immediate priority is to preserve civilian lives, provide full protection to “civilian institutions and assets, and ensure that humanitarian, relief and medical aid reaches the brotherly Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip urgently.” , intensively, safely and without obstacles.

The Ministry underlined the need for an immediate ceasefire to prevent bloodshed, underlining the importance that civilians and civilian institutions enjoy full protection “in accordance with international law and international treaties, and the need not to be target of conflicts”.

The declaration calls on the international community to make every effort to avoid a further escalation of the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and to continue all efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.

On Saturday, Hamas’ Health Ministry announced that at least 80 people were killed, 32 of them members of one family, in two separate Israeli raids in the Jabalia camp in the northern Gaza Strip on a United Nations school that it hosted displaced people and a house.

In a separate raid, 32 people from the Abu Habal family were killed in the camp, including 19 children, according to the ministry, which published a list with the names of these victims.

Footage released on social media, confirmed by Agence France-Presse, showed blood-covered bodies lying on the ground in the school’s corridors and classrooms. Some bodies lay on sleeping bags and mattresses.

The Israeli military did not comment on these raids, but said its forces were expanding their operations in the Gaza Strip, including Jabalia, “to target terrorists and strike Hamas infrastructure.”

The Jabalia camp was the target of an Israeli bombing in early November, which lasted three days and caused the death of over 200 people, as announced by the Hamas government.
