Everton points deduction
The Premier League made the unprecedented decision to immediately deduct Everton 10 points after they were found to have breached financial regulations. A league statement on Friday confirmed the long-awaited decision, reading: “The Premier League made a complaint against the club and referred the case to an independent committee earlier this year.
“During the course of the proceedings, the club accepted that it had breached its PSR for the period ending in the 2021/22 season, but the extent of the breach remains disputed. Following a five-day hearing last month, the committee determined that Everton Football Club’s PSR calculations were carried out by Premier League It said losses during the relevant period were £124.5 million, exceeding the £105 million threshold allowed under the PSR.
