“Even if I saw Mike today”

Michael Jordan is not only arguably the greatest NBA player of all time, but to many, he is also the greatest athlete in human history. Many who watched Jordan’s career in real time couldn’t help but be fascinated, even inspired, by his abilities on the court.

Fans weren’t the only ones surprised by his performance though, even among other athletes, Michael Jordan was a legend among legends.

Even though NFL legend Tom Brady met Jordan multiple times and even played basketball with him, the former quarterback remains in awe of Jordan. In addition to sharing the course together, the two also played golf together.

Over the years, the two developed a friendship. Still, the NFL icon rejoices in every opportunity to see Jordan. During a recent interview on Patrick Bate David’s podcast, Brady discussed their friendship:

“Michael Jordan is mine… Everybody wants to be like Mike, so even if I see Mike today, I still think, ‘That’s Michael Jordan, you know’. I just think he’s the most Cool guy you know I love his determination.”

How Michael Jordan and other NBA stars inspire Tom Brady

Even though Tom Brady is widely considered the greatest quarterback of all time, he still finds himself inspired by athletes and fans alike. American fans may recall that Brady himself wasn’t always ready for ultimate success.

When TB12 entered the NFL, he was the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, and his size led many to question his athleticism. Despite this, he overcame the difficulties and achieved great success. As a result, he can’t help but be inspired by other athletes who have overcome obstacles.

“There’s a lot of people who are presumptuous. You know, they’re prodigies and it’s easy for them, you know? I don’t think it was easy for Michael Jordan, as great as he was.

“LeBron has been through a lot. It’s been tough for LeBron, but he’s unbelievable. So, I love Steph Curry, like these are guys that I look up to and they inspire me.”

Stephen Curry, on the other hand, has publicly stated that he is inspired by Tom Brady’s longevity. When looking back on his career, Curry wants to try to emulate Brady’s longevity. Whether or not he plays until he’s 45 like Brady, it’s safe to say that respect goes both ways.
