There are currently no details on Wonder Woman’s future in the new DC Universe, but James Gunn has stated that he wants to expand the character’s mythology into animated projects.
Aside from Batman and Superman, Wonder Woman was the great excluded from the presentation of the new DC Universe by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The director has simply announced a prequel series entitled Paradise Lost, but has not revealed details on the new actress who will play the role of the famous horsewoman.
Meanwhile, fans have been clamoring an animated series about Wonder Woman And James Gunn declined to respond in a very positive way. “We are working more on the animation front regarding Wonder Woman. I agree that very little has been done with the character on the animation side and it was one of the first things I brought to attention during the meetings”.

At the moment, Wonder Woman’s future in the new DC Universe remains a mystery. After the cancellation of the third film directed by Patty Jenkins, it seems that Gal Gadot will not return as the DC superhero, leaving room for a new face. The actress will have a cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods, as spoiled by the official merchandising, but her experience with DC will end there.
James Gunn wanted to reassure fans of the importance that Wonder Woman will have in his course of the DCU, but for the moment he did not want to go too far on the possible casting.
