Fashion, divas and influencers at the BLA

“From Hollywood to TikTok: divas and influencers in the fashion system” is the meeting with Eleonora Chiais who opens, Wednesday 19 April, at 6.30 pm, the review “The new world”, proposed by the Municipality of Fiorano Modenese in collaboration with the library “Paolo Monelli” and the Lumen association. A review with free admission that, through experts and authors, wants to read aspects of the contemporary world.

At the BLA, Fiorano archive game library, the first appointment is with Professor Eleonora Chiais, researcher and professor at the universities of Turin and Bologna, who will lead an hour-long journey from Hollywood to TikTok to understand the mechanisms of fashion in to promote itself and become a social element.

How has the communication and promotional strategy implemented by the arbiter Elegantearum yesterday and today changed? How much are the promotional strategies of individual fashions linked to the media through which they are communicated? Starting from the divas of cinema to arrive at contemporary influencers, the meeting aims to define this contemporary figure in the fashion sector by intercepting, over time, the main changes and common features, in an excursus from Audrey Hepburs to Addison Rae.

Eleonora Chiais, researcher at the University of Turin and professor at the University of Bologna, teaches Fashion and Costume, Forms and Languages ​​of Fashion, Sociology of Fashion, History of costume and fashion and Fashion and creativity. She holds a PhD in fashion semiotics in Turin with a thesis on Vogue, she mainly deals with fashion theory and trend analysis. She is the author of several scientific articles published in Italy and abroad.

The review “The new world” continues on Wednesday 26 April at 6.30 pm with “The (new) Italian television series: from Netflix to the RaiPlay revolution”, an event curated by Paola Brembilla (University of Bologna).
