first trailer for the new DC superhero movie

From Warner Bros. Pictures via Cinefilos.it comes the official trailer of Blue Beetle, the film that marks the big screen debut of the DC superhero. Directed by Angel Manuel Soto, the protagonist is Xolo Maridueña in the title role of the film, Blue Beetle, and in that of his alter ego, Jaime Reyes.

Recent college graduate Jaime Reyes returns home full of aspirations for his future but soon discovers that it’s not quite how he left it. While searching the world for his purpose, fate causes Jaime to unexpectedly find himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology: the Beetle. Jamie is suddenly chosen by the Scarab as its symbiotic host and gifted with incredible armor capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers. His fate will change forever and Jamie will transform into the Super Hero Blue Beetle.

Alongside Maridueña (“Cobra Kai”) we find, Adriana Barraza (“Rambo: Last Blood”, “Thor”) in the role of Jaime’s grandmother, Nana, Damían Alcázar (“Narcos”, “Narcos: Mexico”) in that of his father, Elpidia Carrillo (“Mayans MC”, the saga of “Predator”) in the role of his mother, Bruna Marquezine (“Maldivas”, “God Save the King”) in that of Jenny Kord, Raoul Max Trujillo (films of “Sicario”, “Mayans MC”) as Carapax, Academy Award® winner Susan Sarandon (“Monarch”, “Dead Man Walking”) as Victoria Kord and George Lopez (the sagas of “Rio” and “The Smurfs”) in role of his uncle Rudy. Also starring are Belissa Escobedo (“American Horror Stories,” “Hocus Pocus 2”) as Jaime’s sister Milagro, and Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”) as Dr. Sanchez.

Soto (“Charm City Kings,” “The Farm”) directs from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (“Miss Bala”), based on DC characters. John Rickard and Zev Foreman are producers and Walter Hamada, Galen Vaisman and Garrett Grant are executive producers.

The director’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes cinematographer Pawel Pogorzelski (“Midsommar,” “Hereditary”), production designer John Billington (“Bad Boys for Life”), editor Craig Alpert (“Deadpool 2” , “The Lost City”), Academy Award®-nominated costume designer Mayes C. Rubeo (“Jojo Rabbit,” the “Thor” films), visual effects supervisor Kelvin McIlwain (“The Suicide Squad,” “Aquaman” ) and composer Bobby Krlic (“Midsommar,” the “Snowpiercer” series).

A Warner Bros. Pictures presentation, a Safran Company production, “Blue Beetle” will be available in Italian theaters starting August 17, 2023 distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
