Can the end of a marriage be a new beginning? This is what the miniseries is about “Fleishman in pieces”, available at Disney+ from the February 22nd with all eight episodes.
The protagonist is Toby Fleishman (Jesse Eisenberg)that after his divorce from his wife Rachel (Claire Danes) decides to get involved in the sentimental field. But time has changed, compared to his adolescence there are now new relationship “facilitating” tools: dating apps. Toby has a great and unexpected success among the female audience and at the same time he has to manage new friends and two children aged 11 and 9, Hannah and Solly.

Everything flows more or less normally (including nervousness) until Rachel suddenly disappears… «To increase our combative side, to create tensions between us, the authors wanted us to play dodgeball (a kind of dodgeball, ed)” explains Claire Danes. Continues Eisenberg: «For the same reason, they advised us to write a secret diary as if we were our character, to create overlaps between fiction and reality. In this way we codified what one loved and hated of the other, it was useful to understand why the relationship between the two protagonists ended». The series is the television adaptation of the novel of the same name by Taffy Brodesser-Akner, who also serves as an executive producer.
