The Mundo Tênis Open is a WTA tournament held at the Jurerê Sports Center Super 9 Tennis Park in Florianópolis and attracts the best athletes from the world tour. The event features some of the sport’s stars, such as Australian Ajla Tomljanović. Ajla, a former top 40 player in the world, hosts Serena Williams, one of the two greatest stars of all time in women’s tennis.

The Australian returned to action in September after recovering from a serious nine-month injury to his quadriceps. Organizers of the event used the opportunity to pay tribute to the athlete.
During Ajla’s performance at the Mundo Tênis Open, artist Jotape painted a painting of the Australian player. The job is delivered to the tennis player over the course of a long week.
