Dua Lipa rose to fame as a global pop star in 2017, but it has been revealed that she appeared on an Australian reality show before becoming a household name.

The 28-year-old British-Albanian singer was a budding pop star in 2016 when she appeared on the second season of The Bachelorette Australia, reports Shameless Podcast.

On Tuesday it was revealed that the One Kiss hitmaker performed an exclusive performance for fiancee Georgia Love and her beau Clancy Ryan.

At the time, Dua was just 22 years old and touring with Troye Sivan as her opening act when she was approached to appear on television.

Georgia, 35, who wooed 18 men on the reality matchmaking show, asked Clancy out on a date in episode five, where they were treated to a private performance by Dua.

The couple didn’t know that the following year Dua would release her debut hit single “New Rules” and gain worldwide fame.

The pop star has come a long way since then, with bosses at Glastonbury and Coachella festivals reportedly vying for her to headline next summer.

According to insiders, the British pop sensation is currently unsure of his decision, but is carefully considering offers.

Dua hasn’t performed at Glastonbury since her career began seven years ago, when she took to the John Peel stage.

This time, if she decides to accept the gig, she will be headlining the famous Pyramid Stage at Glasto’s Worthy Farm.

A source told The Sun: “Dua loves Glastonbury and the last time she played there she called it ‘her favorite thing in the world.’

On Tuesday it was revealed that the One Kiss hitmaker performed an exclusive performance for fiancee Georgia Love and her beau Clancy Ryan.

They continued: “She knows how huge this opportunity is, but the same goes for Coachella.

“Dua has been to both places before as a player and loves everything about them. She feels very honored and excited that the organizers are even considering her candidacy.”

The singer is also preparing to release his highly anticipated third album in early 2024.

The source added: “There’s a lot riding on this album and Dua isn’t pulling any punches. This will cement her status as one of the biggest pop stars to ever come out of the UK.”
