For “Bari in Jazz”, Eri Yamamoto Sunshine Trio at the Minaret



FASANO – Bari In Jazz 2023 continues, the 19th edition of the capital’s festival dedicated to music and great artists rooted in jazz, in the broadest sense of the word. Fasano Minaret (BR) will be held as part of a long and eventful program that brings artists from all over the world to the numerous stages of the Bari metropolitan area and the province of Brindisi from July to September 2023. Intense, telluric dialogue, historized by pearls of Eri Yamamoto’s charismatic touch with sublime pianism and wide harmonic range, with her multi-faceted artistic personality, with the finest talent of Aldo Di Caterino, with virtuosity and artistic flair, creates a subtle journey and dynamics filled with suggestive atmosphere and unusual melodies that combine with Giorgio Vendola’s immense versatility to complete the artistic expression.


Eri Yamamoto, a Japanese pianist living in New York in 1995, studied with Reggie Workman, Junior Mance, and LeAnn Ledgerwood in the prestigious New School University jazz program, establishing herself as one of the most original and compelling pianists and composers in international jazz. Over the past twenty-seven years, Eri has shared her unique and evocative music, performing on many prestigious stages in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, Africa, Jamaica and Australia, demonstrating how she can connect her roots, classical and the best jazz in tradition. Eri began playing classical piano at the age of three, and her first compositions when she was only eight, she received her master’s degree in education and composition from Shiga University, Japan. Erie has collaborated and recorded with various creative and celebrated musicians, including William Parker. , Paul McCandless, Daniel Carter, Hamid Drake, Federico Ugi, Adam Nussbaum, Yves Levey, and has also featured on several William Parker recordings, including a CD for solo piano, performing original Parker compositions around the world.
