Frustrated, he hit a ball with great force and unknowingly directed it towards the referee, meaning he was immediately penalized.
He later said he apologized to the referee and the pair had moved on from the situation, further recognizing that his judgment was biased. But one Twitter user wasn’t happy. They further reprimanded the player, saying the action could have seriously harmed the referee if they had moved a few centimeters in a different direction.
