1.- A new era begins. – Starting this weekend and continuing through December, the NBA will host Cup Series. The event rings a bell every time the knockout rounds and finals arrive in Las Vegas; the group stages look like yet another experiment by the association to reinvigorate an increasingly long season.
We’ll have to see how competitive the competition becomes and if that doesn’t lead to mistakes like an All-Star draft as the seasons go by, time will tell.
At first, Friday’s results were mostly close, with no margin greater than double digits, so the motivation of playing in Las Vegas coupled with the bonus for the title winner was clearly motivating at first.
One of the most striking things yesterday was the picturesque design of the arena floor that served as the local venue, which gave the game a special feel.
2.-The “Joker” is already in “MVP” mode. – Last season didn’t seem to be over for Nikola Jokic as he started the 2023-24 season with his first triple-double. Who can dare to predict how much it will increase?

3.- MSG Celebrities.- It’s no secret that the world’s elite in sports and entertainment gather at the New York Arena whenever the New York Knicks play a home game. The opening game of “The Thibodeau Boys” is no exception. In the stands you can see New York Yankees stars Aaron Jude, Carmelo Anthony, John McEnroe, and Fat Joe; actor Chris Rock ( Chris Rock and regulars Spike Lee and even New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft were on hand.
4.- Inversion temperature ratio method? The game that brought everyone at Frostbank Center to their feet occurred in the fourth quarter of a game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets. Without a doubt a highlight worth remembering…

7.-Stop everything! No, that’s not a photo trick, what you see is Kawhi Leonard smiling. Yes! This postcard, which should be framed by a trading card collector, was given away during the Clippers and Lakers game. At first, it all seemed to be laughter for Ty Lue’s team (perhaps that’s why Kawhi was so happy); however, the Yellow and Purple teams stole the joy from their neighbors, turning around in overtime scored and won.
Anyway, this Kawhi postcard is “Chickpeas by the Pound.”
8.-Speaking of postcards… How about the one KD and Victor Wembanyama gave us during the Suns-Spurs game on Halloween night? Two of the NBA’s greatest players met, and of the many matchups they had, this photo already ranks as one of the best from the 2023-23 season.
Be careful, maybe KD has the key to avoid Wenby’s tentacles. (By the way, KD shoots well)
9.- Do we believe the Boston Celtics? I don’t know how the Mavericks are doing… The Eastern Conference Celtics and Western Conference Mavericks are two teams that have had perfect starts and remain undefeated in the new season.
If I had to choose between the two, I’d go with Boston, which looks like a good choice for Jayson Tatum and company; looks like a strong team, The newly joined players are mainly Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis. Instead, it seems to me that once Dallas lost Game 1, they were going to repeat the same mistakes; that was Luka Doncic’s irregularity and reliance. That’s not unreasonable, but Kyrie Irving doesn’t guarantee anything, and Luka’s talent will once again not get the Mavericks far this season.
