Fox Entertainment Global Hires David Smith as Executive Vice President of Sales

Fox Entertainment Global, the broadcast network’s international distribution arm, is hiring. The company hired David Smith as executive vice president of sales.

Smith will report to FEG Chief Operating Officer Tony Vassiliadis.

Based in London, Smith will be responsible for global and domestic sales of programming produced by Fox Entertainment’s in-house studios, including Fox Alternative Entertainment, Fox Entertainment Studios, Studio Ramsay Global, Bento Box Entertainment, MarVista Entertainment and TMZ. , as well as a range of content from Tubi, Fox’s AVOD streaming service.

Smith will officially begin his full-time role at FEG in January 2024.

Most recently, Smith served as a consultant for Fox Entertainment Studios on international co-production and scripted development collaborations, reporting to Michael Thorne, Fox Entertainment’s President of Scripted Programming. Smith will continue to work with Thorne in his new role, identifying and developing international co-production partnerships. He will also collaborate with Allison Wallach, the company’s president of unscripted programming, on international unscripted formats.

Smith complements the senior management team led by FEG CEO Fernando Shew, led by Vassiliadis, who is responsible for overseeing all of the company’s business operations. They were joined by Deanna Stern, senior vice president of marketing and communications; Lori Bernstein, senior vice president of business and legal affairs; and Micol Hatvan, vice president of strategy and operations.

Before he became a consultant for Fox Entertainment Studios, Smith was the CEO of Beyond Rights, where he launched several partnerships with FAST channels around the world until Banijay acquired Beyond International in 2022.

He spent ten years at Twentieth Century Fox in international TV sales, and before that he was part of Sky’s team buying shows from US studios.
