Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart Doesn’t Know Who Miley Cyrus Is: ‘I Know Eric Church, Wrecking Ball’

Country music is universal and so relatable that it can permeate any part of life.

After Georgia’s convincing win over Kentucky yesterday, head coach Kirby Smart was talking to the media when an interesting question came up.

Earlier in the conversation, Smart used a “wrecking ball” analogy, and one reporter became fixated on it and decided to ask about a follow-up.

“Going back to your wrecking ball analogy, I picture Miley Cyrus in my head, it’s like…”

Kirby decided to interrupt her immediately, only because he didn’t understand what she was talking about. Judging by the way he responded, if she had told the Chief about this, Kirby would probably be on the same page.

Smart said:

“I don’t know who Miley Cyrus is? What does she have to do with the wrecking ball? Hm?

I know Eric Church from Wrecking Ball.

I guess the head coach of the Georgia Bulldogs doesn’t need to know who Miley Cyrus is, but it’s surprising that he said he “don’t know her.” I think the Wrecking Ball era was pretty hard to miss…

But kudos to him for bringing it back to the world of country music while shouting out Eric Church’s hit “Like A Wrecking Ball”:

And while you’re here, you might as well take some time to listen to the BEST of the two wrecking ball-themed songs.

I’d take an Eric Church song over a Miley song any day of the week.
