According to Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James is a lot better than Michael Jordan. The NBA champion told The Athletic what he thinks of the Los Angeles Lakers star.
Who is better: LeBron James or Michael Jordan?
The “GOAT” debate between James and Jordan has been around for a long time. It’s an ongoing battle among fans who argue over and over who is the greatest player of all time.
While the debates may never end and the minds may never change, Antetokounmpo has determined who his GOAT is.
In an article praising James’ legacy and longevity in the NBA, the former DPOY praised him. He even hinted at the debate between James and Jordan, saying the former was his number one.
“Some people might say he (James) is No. 2, but other people like me, I say he’s No. 1. And he’s still going forward.”
He not only thinks he is the best league Even better, because the 19-time All-Star is still going.
He went on to elaborate on the superstar’s clean record in the league. This is especially impressive since he has been in the league for 20 seasons and is about to enter his 21st.
James is obviously a role model for Antetokounmpo.
“For 21 years, you’ve never been in trouble, been able to accept your family, protect the family, raise your kids the right way, you know, be happily married, all of that perfect. He’s kind of been there for the rest of us. Guys set the blueprint moving forward. That’s what I want. I want to be able to consistently do what I do on the field, perform well, stay healthy, help my team, be able to, you know, Raising my family and living as normal a life as possible away from what I did for them on the field. Stay out of trouble.”
This is reminiscent of what Rich Paul said about James. The main reason for the 38-year-old’s victory over the former Chicago Bull was his mental strength in the face of media scrutiny.
Dwyane Wade further agreed, praising James’ mental makeup.
