Gisele Bündchen opens up about Tom Brady divorce not getting ‘what I hoped for’

Gisele Bündchen is ready to talk about her divorce from NFL veteran Tom Brady.

The Brazilian model recently celebrated her 43rd birthday and kicked a lifelong habit, but is still dealing with the end of her marriage. Bündchen, who has two children with Brady, said she was happy with her new life and wouldn’t change a thing.

“I look at my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” she said in a preview of an upcoming interview with “CBS Sunday Morning News.” “I wouldn’t have any other life if they said, ‘Can you change something in your life?’ I wouldn’t do it.” I wouldn’t change absolutely anything. “

When host Lee Cowan asked her if divorce was part of that sentiment, Bundchen told him candidly, “It’s not what I dreamed of and hoped for.” Although she and Brady announced an amicable split on Instagram last October , but Bundchen says she’s still learning to fully accept that fact.

“My parents have been married 50 years, and I really wanted something like this to happen,” she told Cowan. “But I think sometimes you have to accept, like in your 20s, you know, sometimes you grow together and sometimes you grow apart.”

Reports say the couple hired divorce lawyers last October, weeks before their 13-year marriage ended. Bündchen denounced rumors that she broke up with Brady over his return to football, calling them “the craziest thing I’ve ever heard.”

Brady retired from the NFL in February 2022, but reneged a few weeks later and rejoined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He finally retired “permanently” earlier this year after his contract expired, and is now reportedly dating actor Bradley Cooper’s former model Irina Shayk.

Bundchen reportedly met Brady on a blind date in 2006. They married in 2009 and welcomed their first child, Benjamin, later that year. Bundchen gave birth to daughter Viviane in 2012, whom she shares with Brady’s son from a previous relationship.

“The decision to end a marriage is never an easy one, but we have grown apart and while it is certainly difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we spent together and wish Tom nothing but the best ever,” she shared after her divorce.

Bündchen later moved to a sprawling property in Costa Rica and spent time building a solar-powered house in hopes of growing his own food. She has since reportedly purchased a $9 million home in Florida and continues to co-parent her children with Brady.

“I mean, he’s the father of my child, you know?” Bundchen told Cowan. “So I always wish him the best. I’m so grateful that he gave me great kids. I think when one door closes, other doors open.”
