Hailey Bieber’s Halloween Post Resurfaced and Confused the Internet

Hailey Bieber, now famous for her seasonal treat called makeup, was once asked on Instagram what she thought about Halloween. Fans of the model and beauty entrepreneur were met with Christian explanations against the holiday.

Bieber and her husband, pop star Justin Bieber, have long been open about their devout Christian views. Hailey Bieber grew up in an evangelical Christian family, a sect of the faith that her husband later joined. They both previously attended the highly controversial Hillsong Church and eventually moved to Churchom. The sophisticated messaging now starts a conversation about

Halloween began in Scotland and Ireland and was then known in Old English as All Hallows’ Eve. According to historians, the holiday has always had Christian roots with Celtic-pagan influences. Many modern sects of Christianity, including Catholicism, celebrate All Saints’ Day as a way to pay respect to saints and deceased loved ones. The costume most likely originated from an old Gaelic pre-Christian festival called Samhain.

Reaction on social networks

Some felt Bieber’s post was over the top and appeared to be seeking to convert her followers to Christianity.

Others felt there was no need for an explanation since Halloween had become heavily commercialized.

Elsewhere, some used the post to further comment on Bieber’s connection to Hillsong and the controversy facing the church. Hillsong leader Frank Houston was accused of sexual assault, and Brian Houston was accused of covering it up. In addition, the church allegedly committed tax fraud, and the church’s pastors often held homophobic views.

Some compared the length of the post to the long text found on the side of Dr. Bronner’s soap bottle.

Some claim that the text was actually a repost by former Hillsong pastor Nathan Finochio. Finocchio has since left the church and founded another church. Some believe Bieber reposted the meme to mock more radical views within Christianity, while others believe she must have agreed with it if she reposted it.

Despite these seemingly strong views on Halloween, Bieber has participated in the holiday in recent years by dressing up as Britney Spears, Barbie and others.

While it remains unclear whether Bieber feels the same way about the holiday, she continues to regularly speak out about her faith.

Justin Bieber has refrained from commenting on Halloween for years. The Biebers married in 2018, and recent scandals have alleged that Bieber cheated on his longtime ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez with Hailey Balvin-Bieber. Both women have spoken out in support of each other following a series of viral conspiracy theories on social media.
