Days after being heavily criticized for a strange joke he made about the bloody conflict that has been raging for 35 days between Israel and Palestinian factions on Joe Rogan’s show, billionaire Elon Musk is back talking about the ongoing war.
In an interview with popular US broadcaster Lex Friedman, Musk said there is no simple answer on anything related to the Middle East.
But he added: “In my precise opinion, Hamas aimed to provoke a violent and exaggerated reaction from Israel, because they (Hamas) did not expect to achieve a military victory.”

The Tesla CEO added: “They really wanted to commit the worst possible atrocities to provoke a more aggressive Israeli response and take advantage of this response to rally Muslims around the world to the cause of Gaza and Palestine… and in in reality they succeeded. !”
However, he believed that “Israel should act as kindly as possible,” as he put it. He believed that applying the “eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth” principle would make the situation worse.
He wondered: “For every Hamas member Israel kills, how many more has it created?!”
He also considered that “if Israel killed some people’s children in Gaza, that would generate more anger and perhaps terrorism in the long term.”
Furthermore, he stressed that Israeli forces must kill Hamas members or imprison them, while calling for aid to be brought to Gaza.
Musk has recently come under a wave of criticism after much misleading information about the ongoing war in Gaza was spread on platform X (formerly Twitter), which he purchased last year.
However, he then confirmed that he was dealing with the matter to limit the spread of similar news as much as possible.
