Entertainment Tonight premiered the film in the United States. Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning, Part One at the Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City on Monday, and ET’s Nichelle Turner spoke with Atwell about how Cruise saved her from adrenal fatigue.

“A virtual train car with Tom,” Atwell said when asked about the hardest stunt she did in the film. “So it goes from horizontal to vertical in six seconds, so we’ll have to run down the slope and get to the bar before we’re hovering over the ravine.”

She continued: “And it’s for me – I mean, at one point I had adrenal fatigue and I just looked like a zombie and Tom was like, ‘Are you okay?’ and I was like, “I don’t even know what’s happening to me, Tom. I don’t know”. And he said, “I know what you need. You need some chocolate,” and I said, “Yes, I do.”

Atwell said Cruise quickly pulled out some chocolate and she immediately felt good – so good that they were able to do the stunt several more times.

As for how she prepared for the physically grueling stunt, Atwell said she had to train hard.

“Richmond Park in London – I can give you a tour of all the hills I’ve run up, where I’ve cried, where I’ve peed behind a tree, where I’ve wanted to take a nap, where I’ve called my mum and said, ‘I don’t want to.’ I don’t think I can do it,” joked the 41-year-old actress. “It was, but it was a lot of mobility training, injury prevention training—making sure you do all of that really safely and competently so that I could make Grace as physically dynamic as possible. So, by the time I got on set I could do whatever I was asked to do multiple times and then add performance to it.”

Cruise also offered some helpful advice following recent rumors that she and the 61-year-old were in a relationship. secret romance.

“When I talked to him about it, he said, ‘You know exactly who you are. You know what you mean. And that’s the only thing that matters. It doesn’t matter what people think.” of you, if you are honest with yourself, if you know what your value system is,” she said. Independent on the weekend.

Although Atwell called the rumors “uncomfortable,” she explained how she feels about Cruise and Mission director Chris McQuarrie (aka McCoo) as the “two uncles”, noting that both Cruise McCoos encouraged her to play the role of Grace in the film as a strong female lead who has more of a sisterly relationship with Cruise’s Ethan Hunt.

The Marvel actress also shared that Cruise and McCue enjoy “being surrounded by really strong and smart women,” adding that the couple “love seeing women thrive and be in their power, so if I ever try to play a small or flirty or playing damsel, they will probably say, “What are you doing? That’s not you!””

While Cruise’s relationship status is unknown, Atwell recently became engaged to her boyfriend Ned Wolfgang Kelly.
