‘He’ll call it…’: When Margot Robbie gave a hilarious speech in honor of Brad Pitt at the BAFTA Awards

Margot Robbie took over the world and made everything pink and sparkly. With her recent film Barbie, she has become one of this year’s most beloved actresses, and for good reason. Talented Robbie can make anything happen; there’s nothing she can’t do. From diverse roles to funny speeches. Embarrassed? Well, we’re looking back at that moment when Margot Robbie came and gave a last-minute help to Hollywood legend Brad Pitt and gave a hilarious speech full of jokes, Brexit, Megxit and loneliness during the 2020 BAFTAs, where Pitt won the Best Actor Award background.

Margot Robbie once gave a hilarious speech to Brad Pitt

In 2020, Brad Pitt won the Best Supporting Actor award for his role as stuntman Cliff Booth in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and since he wasn’t in London to accept his prize, he enlisted the help of a friend.

Pitt invited his Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star Margot Robbie to accept the BAFTA award and read out a speech he had prepared, filled with jokes about Brexit, Megxit and his new single status.

The Wolf of Wall Street actress said: “Hey Britannia, I heard you just got married; welcome to the club. I hope you get the best possible divorce settlement.”

Margot resumed Pitt’s statement to loud laughter from the audience. As the camera panned to Kate Middleton and Prince William, she continued: “He says he’s going to name this one Harry because he’s really excited to bring him to the States. His words, not mine.”

Margot Robbie and Brad Pitt are teaming up for a new project

Concerning Diversity, LuckyChap Entertainment, Margot Robbie’s production company and Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B are working together on the project.

They’re currently working on a remake of The Thin Man, and there are no current plans to discuss casting, although Pitt and Robbie could return for the film. However, due to the lengthy SAG-AFTRA strike, casting and production decisions were delayed.

Meanwhile, Margot Robbie was the latest in Greta Gerwig’s plastic live-action film Barbie. It was one of the most anticipated films of the year and Robbie received a lot of praise and appreciation for her outstanding performance in the lead role. Barbie was released on July 21, 2023.
