Taylor Swift and Blake Lively have been friends since 2015, but it wasn’t always that way.

The couple recently started spending more time together after the Cruel Summer hitmaker turned the latest Kansas City Chiefs game into a celebrity-spotting exercise, inviting a slew of her classmates to cheer on her new boyfriend Travis Kelce.

Swift’s section at MetLife Stadium was packed with Hollywood stars, including the likes of Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds and Sophie Turner.

But Taylor and Blake’s friendship nearly fell apart after fans misunderstood an innocuous social media post made by the Gossip Girl actress.

In September 2015, Blake made an innocent comment that angered several of Taylor’s fans.

The Gossip Girl star infuriated Swifties when she appeared to poke fun at Taylor’s famous “squad” of girlfriends.

Sharing a photo of herself alongside John Legend, Julianne Moore, Naomi Watts, Karlie Kloss and others for the L’Oréal campaign, Blake joked in the caption: “Oooh turns out this was NOT a video shoot for John Legend’s cover of Bad.” Blood.

‘@lorealparisofficial blew up over this. My #pinkobsession is now revealed. Okay, it’s your turn. I will not say! #AlsoTurnsOutJohnLegendIsntCoveringBadBlood Time to petition!”

Despite the innocent nature of the comment, some of Taylor’s more die-hard fans saw it as shade towards the singer.

Blake quickly denied feud rumors, saying she had always been a big fan of the singer, and posted a photo on Instagram of Taylor posing with the actress’ family backstage during her 1989 tour.

The pair have been spending more time together lately after the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker turned the latest Kansas City Chiefs game into a celebrity-spotting exercise, inviting a slew of her classmates to cheer on her new boyfriend Travis Kelce.
On Saturday, Swift was spotted at a bachelorette party with her A-list friends Blake Lively, Sophie Turner and Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany, who also joined in on the fun.
The singer and the Gossip Girl alum were seen hugging shortly after the Chiefs scored a touchdown.

“Umm, whoever thought I was throwing shade clearly doesn’t know I have a ‘Taylor Swift, please be my wife, woo-doo doll,'” she wrote, adding, “#obsessed.”

“Look how happy she is to make my niece Heather feel like a rock star. I love my Canadian family almost as much as I love Taylor Lively. I mean Swift. Okay, FIIIINE, we can hyphenate our last names. xo Blake Swift-Lively 4eva.’

“Such an amazing day off yesterday – rollercoasters, kangaroos and LOL with @blakelily See you tonight Adelaide!” Taylor then captioned an image of herself on social media showing the couple jumping into the air.

A few days before going on stage, fans spotted Blake at Taylor’s concert in Brisbane.

Snapchat videos and a series of fan tweets suggest Blake, who filmed The Shallows in Queensland in 2015, was at Suncorp Stadium for Taylor’s second Australian show during her 1989 world tour.

At the time, the duo also posed for photos with eager fans.

The short 10-second clip, filmed on a mobile phone app, shows the blonde beauty, who looks just like Blake, chatting with a fan at a concert while Taylor sings her track I Wish You Will on stage.

At that time, Blake had been married to 46-year-old Ryan Reynolds for three years, and a year earlier their first daughter James was born.

Blake welcomed his second child, daughter Inez, in September 2016, and nearly three years later, the couple secretly welcomed a third daughter named Betty in October 2019, but they did not publicly reveal her name at the time.

It wasn’t until the summer of 2020 that Taylor’s parents gave her the honor of revealing their daughter’s nickname to the world through her song Betty.

The hit was included in her eighth studio album Folklore. Fans quickly put the pieces together after hearing the names of Blake and Ryan’s two other daughters in the song.

Ryan previously revealed that their children had no idea Taylor was famous after growing up with her in their lives.

He admitted on Sirius XM: “I think the interesting thing for them is that for a long time they just thought Taylor was just an aunt, a friend of mom and dad, who is very, very close, almost like family.

“And then one day they went to a concert and said, ‘Oooh, this isn’t a hobby.’
