Three 2025 prospects left Columbus with offers in hand, including one on offense and two on defense. We’ll detail each offer below.
Four-star Illinois wide receiver Talyn Taylor is the most highly regarded prospect of the three as he is considered the No. 95 player and the No. 15 best receiver in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings hand. He got the invite after talking to Ryan Day during a visit to Columbus.
The 6-foot, 165-pound Taylor has 22 Division I offers so far, including Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas State, Louisville State, Miami State, Michigan State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Utah and Wisconsin.
As a junior, Taylor caught 32 passes for 512 yards and six touchdowns. He was also an efficient passer at times, completing 10 of 13 passes for 150 yards and four touchdowns while also returning kickoffs and punts.
As a sophomore, he caught 45 passes for 660 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven kickoff returns, averaging 22.1 yards.
Delhomme is a four-star safety out of Virginia who is considered the 227th best player and the 15th safety in the 2025 class.
The 6-foot-1, 196-pound prospect held 16 Division I offers, including Alabama, Florida State, Michigan State, Liberty University, James Madison State, Maryland, Northern Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
Delhomme, a full-time two-way player at Warwick High School (Newport News, Va.), was an All-District selection on both offense and defense this season. During his sophomore year, Delhomme had 61 tackles, 2.5 sacks and as many as eight interceptions, two of which were touchdowns. Offensively, he rushed 74 times for 827 yards and 12 touchdowns, and caught 28 passes for 575 yards and 3 scores.
Carter is a three-star defensive tackle out of Florida State, and while he doesn’t currently have a composite ranking, his offer list includes 15 Division I schools. Schools offering the 6-foot-2, 284-pound Carter include Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State.
This season, Carter has totaled 60 tackles, 35 sacks, 8 sacks and 14 quarterback rushes. As a sophomore, Carter totaled 78 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, eight quarterback hits, two pass breakups and one forced fumble.
LeBron James gives Jeremiah Smith a thumbs up
National Signing Day is just a month away from today. Ohio State expects five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith’s national letter of intent to arrive that day, though it will have to fend off aggressive pushes from teams like Florida State and Florida State in the coming weeks as Both are fighting tooth and nail. Let him flip.
Ohio State had arguably its most famous fan in the corner on Monday, as LeBron James unexpectedly took to social media to give the No. 1 2024 draft pick a shout-out.
Smith, in turn, thanked James for his support.
Jordan Sitton adds Ohio State to top seven
Jordan Seaton, the top five-star prospect in the undrafted offensive tackle class of 2024, cut his school roster to seven on Friday. Schools that advanced include Ohio State, Maryland, Tennessee, Oregon, Colorado, Florida and Alabama.
As you can probably tell from where this section of the article is, the prospect of him coming to Ohio State shouldn’t be taken too seriously considering he doesn’t take an official visit to Columbus this fall. Unless he decides to take an official visit in December, the Buckeyes should probably be considered a hat-trick on the table at this point.
Tyler Raymond commits to Tennessee
Ohio State’s cornerback target in the 2025 class is already out of the question. Georgia three-star recruit Tyler Raymond committed to Tennessee on Sunday, choosing the Volunteers over Ohio State, Texas A&M, North Carolina State and the University of Central Florida.
This fall, Raymond visited Ohio State on Oct. 21 to watch the Penn State game, but ended up going in a different direction. Ohio State’s 2025 class may not be known for its defensive backside, despite Blake Woodby’s commitment and the Buckeyes’ considered five-star prospect Devin Sanchez at 1 Favorites before the 6th commitment date.
