Elizabeth Olsen wants to leave the Marvel Cinematic Universe behind. “Moreover, for the last four years I have only worked with Marvel” said the actress. “I don’t want to say that I don’t want to be remembered for this particular character. But I feel that I need to develop other skills in order to play equally. I really want to act in films now. And I hope some of them live up to my expectations. Yes, that’s what I need. I need other characters in my life. There is no artistic longevity in one character.“.
During an interview last June, Elizabeth Olsen already said she was ready to say goodbye to Marvel and its Scarlet Witch: “I don’t miss playing Wanda at all. I’ve been doing this for almost ten years now and I love it. The reason I don’t talk to Kevin Feige on the phone every day to offer him something new is because I’m so proud of what we’ve been able to achieve. I think that Wanda Vision It was a truly amazing opportunity.”
“If I had to be fired from Marvel films today, I would be proud of what we did”he added. “Right now, I’m trying to introduce myself to other films and characters, so I’m known for more than just being associated with Marvel.”
The last three films in which Elizabeth Olsen played the Scarlet Witch are, in order: Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame AND Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
