In order to promote free and uninterrupted testing to ensure the detection of hepatitis C, the Buena Vida Association launched the “I Vote” initiative in five public hospitals in the Municipality of Buenos Aires (CABA) and the Greater Buenos Region Heal Yourself” event Aires, including the Paroissien Hospital of Isidro Casanova, which will take place next Thursday, October 19, from 9 a.m. to One-day testing is available at 12 p.m.

The new initiative includes free testing for everyone regardless of their insurance type from Tuesday, October 17 through mid-November. The NGO announced through a statement that it will cooperate with the conduct of these studies and follow-up of patients who test positive.

“We designed the event around the concept of an election because it’s so popular and part of the conversation at the dinner table, at work, on the street, and we have to get people talking about hepatitis C and choosing a cure, and choosing their leaders,” said Cure Patient , explains Rubén Cantelmi, president of the Buena Vida association, an association dedicated to accompanying patients with liver diseases. Notably, this campaign in 2022 identified 120 people with hepatitis C across the country.

Currently, it is estimated that six to seven out of 10 people with hepatitis C do not know they have hepatitis C.
