In a recent interview, Alia candidly admitted that she was initially defensive when faced with the issue of nepotism, but over time, she has come to realize the advantages that her past has given her.
Speaking to InStyle Australia, Aaliyah said: “I knew my family was in the film industry so I was naturally more inclined towards it, but my dad never spoke to me like, ‘Oh, that day you.’ If you want to act, we will give you this film.” He never raised the issue. Never. And, in fact, my mother struggled as an actress. Not many people know this. She was always looking for more work as an actress, she doesn’t feel like she got the acting chops she deserves, and that’s being married to a director and producer. You know, I’ll find a way to just enjoy this passion, even if I don’t make it as an actor. I always had this doubt. There was never any certainty about it.”
She added: “My initial reaction to it was very defensive because I just felt like, you know, I work hard, so why the question? But I think as time goes by and as you get older, you realize there’s a lot of struggle in the world. and there is reason to admit that I had an easier way to get into the room.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Heart of Stone opposite Gal Gadot. This film became her debut in Hollywood.
